 Tom has been out lifting cows again preparing for the contest in August. This is an annual event in MendaCity. The record is held by the late Wilbur Coots who lifted a 1245 pound heifer in 1984. Unfortunately poor Wilbur lost his footing in something slippery in the barnyard while attempting to beat his record in 1995 by lifting Samson, 1261 pound bull. Wilbur was crushed. Samson is doing fine and is now well over the 2,000 poud mark according to Bertha Leary, who is our unofficial record keeper.
